Like sunshine,Love my Valentine |The Red Dress

Updated: Feb 24, 2022

Haven't we all been there, when we wondered red or no red for valentine's. Wearing red might seem like a cliché but I say why not?

Red is one of my favourite colours as it's the colour of strength and is often associated with life, fire, heat, love, art; it's very bold, sexy, romantic and feminine.

It is a warm and positive colour associated with our will to survive, it energises, excites emotions and motivates us to take action, promotes ambition and determination.

It is also strong-willed and can give confidence to those who are shy and lacking in willpower.

I would say both strength and love have the capacity to be masculine and feminine as would every shade of red.

While red colour has an appetitive meaning in affiliation contexts, societal learning ie; classical conditioning can cause an association between a colour and a reaction and red has symbolized love and carnal passion for centuries.

Societal learning seems to have turned the originally pure sexual meaning of red into a more romantic association: red equals love. Still, the sexual undertone seems to play a major role. In light of the concept of perfect beauty in the media and also in real life, both men and women wearing red are perceived as more attractive.

Wearing a red on valentine's might just be the boost you need to bring out that sexy, bold, confident and appealing feminine woman out to play. And as we all know making an effort to be bold will not only boost your confidence and make you feel good but will also give you some well-deserved compliments and hey who doesn't love those?

So put on that sexy red dress or a redshirt {for the guys }, strap on some heels for a night out with your boo or a girls' night out and go paint the town red, pun intended.

This look exudes power and confidence which is exactly how I like to show up!

How do you feel in an outfit with red tones? Let me know in the comments.

Happy valentine's Day!

All my love and then some;

Xo ❤️
